A Step By Step Guide On How To Make Protein Waffles Using ABV Protein Pancake Mix

Ingredients Needed: 

  • ½ cup ABV Protein Pancake Mix 
  • 1/3 cup water (for thicker waffles, you might want to use slightly less) 
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil (such as vegetable oil, canola oil, or melted butter) 
  • 2 grams baking powder (about ½ teaspoon) 
  • Optional: Instead of water, you can also use milk for richer waffles 
  • Optional: 1 egg for added richness and structure 


  1. Pre-heat the waffle iron by following the instructions on the appliance. Depending on the maker, your waffle iron may beep or light up when it’s ready for use. 
  1. In a medium bowl, combine ½ cup of ABV Protein Pancake Mix with an additional 2 grams (½ teaspoon) of baking powder. 
  1. If you’re hungry for richer waffles, in a separate bowl, beat 1 egg until it is mixed.  
  1. A) If you’re using the beaten egg, add it to the mix with 1/3 cup of water or milk to the entire mix. Stir it and be careful not to overmix. Some lumps are ok! 
    B) If you’re not using the egg, simply add the milk or water without the egg! 
  1. Mix in 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. This will help them be crispy on the outside and prevent them from sticking to the waffle iron. 
  1. Open the waffle iron and coat both plates lightly with oil and non-stick cooking spray. 
  1. Pour the desired amount batter onto the waffle iron.  
  1. Close the waffle iron and cook following the instructions that come with your waffle iron. 
  1. Repeat and re-oil the plates as needed.
